OGDCL Boosts Production at Rajian-05 Well with ESP Technology
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a significant breakthrough in its operations by successfully increasing the production of the Rajian-05 Well in the Chakwal district. The well, which is part of the Rajian Field, has seen a remarkable rise in output after the installation of an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP). This development has led to a substantial increase in both oil and gas production.
Following a planned workover and the deployment of the ESP, the Rajian-05 Well is now producing 3,100 barrels of oil per day (BPD) and 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. This is a major improvement compared to the previous production levels, which stood at 820 BPD of oil and 0.5 MMSCFD of gas. The upgrade highlights OGDCL’s commitment to enhancing the productivity of its existing assets through advanced technologies.
The Rajian Field, located in the Chakwal district of Punjab, is fully owned and operated by OGDCL under the Gujar Khan Exploration License. Discovered in August 1994, the field remains a crucial part of the company’s production portfolio. Two other wells within the same field have already been equipped with ESPs, and the success of the Rajian-05 Well further demonstrates the effectiveness of this strategy.
This achievement underscores OGDCL’s broader approach to maximising the potential of its existing fields.
