Some individuals enjoy spicy cuisine while others do not, but bringing spicy meals to work for lunch does not imply any harmful intent.

Although, that’s not the tale a single individual sharedwhen he consumed spicy food from the break room refrigerator.

Now, his claim has ironically caused him to appear ridiculous.

Let’s read the entire story.

Caught the Office Snack Stealer by Chance

I’m fairly new to my position, and the workplace isn’t very well-structured.

There is a complete kitchen/break room equipped with a full refrigerator/freezer and also an oven.

There are no guidelines regarding the food in the fridge; some items are meant to be shared while others are private.

I simply stick with what I have and store it in a small lunch bag to avoid mixing it up with something that can be shared.

Another point – this is in Rural North Carolina and I was born in New York (I’ve been here for a while, but there are still cultural differences that are significant).

There’s a lunch thief.

It appears there has been a series of food thefts, with no one discussing them (at least not with me), and it seems everyone was ready to endure the situation quietly.

So yesterday I brought my lunch with me, and it was leftover Chori-Pollo, which was very spicy (I like it spicy, but it was a little too much even for me).

I’ve discovered that in this region, individuals prefer items significantly sweeter and less spicy compared to what I am accustomed to.

When I went into the break room for lunch, several people were gathered together, and one of the guys, Brent, was having his blood pressure checked by the HR representative.

I was worried and came over, and he immediately began shouting at me, accusing me of trying to poison him.

He was aware it belonged to her, yet he took it regardless.

I was very puzzled, but after a lengthy exchange, I understood that Brent had taken and tried to eat my lunch while saying I added an excessive amount of spices to it.

I needed to clarify that I enjoy spicy food. I hadn’t anticipated him taking my lunch, and now, looking back, I’m surprised he knew it belonged to me.

It’s in a small flower-patterned lunch bag, but I didn’t write my name on it.

That’s how everyone now knows Brent is 1. a thief of food and 2. unable to tolerate spicy food (which is particularly funny because Brent is an older man over 6 feet tall and takes pride in being tough, while I am a 5-foot-tall woman and the least threatening person around)

He exposed himself as the person who stole the lunch!

Honestly, if he was aware it was her lunch, why would he consume it?

Let’s check how Reddit responded to this story.

Why would someone take another person’s meal?

This individual recounts a tale involving a sweets robber.

It’s time to speak with Human Resources.

This individual would become passive-aggressive.

He essentially took revenge upon himself!

Hilarious.
