No insults can make me angry – Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Shares Lessons on Controlling Anger and Maintaining Composure

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has made a powerful statement about maintaining calm in the face of provocation. During his sermon at the July Holy Ghost service held at the Redemption City of God in Mowe, Ogun State, he emphasized that no amount of insults or attacks can lead him to respond with anger.

Adeboye shared that he has been consistently targeted by individuals who attempt to provoke him through verbal abuse. Despite this, he has remained composed, highlighting that criticism has never pushed him to anger. He used this opportunity to caution his followers against falling into the same trap, urging them to avoid reacting irrationally.

“Anger is temporary madness,” he warned. “You don’t want to be mad. Some people will do things that cause you to feel angry, but don’t fall into their trap. One of the easiest ways to have your destiny destroyed is to get angry.”

He also mentioned that many people have been spreading various forms of negativity about him, hoping to provoke a reaction. However, he remains steadfast in his resolve not to let these provocations affect his mission.

A Bold Refusal to Meet with an African Leader

In another revelation, Adeboye spoke about how he turned down an invitation from an African head of state. This leader had reportedly sought divine healing for an undisclosed illness after failing to find relief through medical treatments. According to the pastor, the leader was advised to reach out to him after hearing testimonies about his healing ministry.

“I remember a case involving a head of state in Africa who had a problem that no doctor could solve. He heard about a man of God who could heal him and contacted our pastor in his country’s capital, asking for the General Overseer,” Adeboye said.

The pastor then relayed the message to him, but Adeboye declined the request. “I told the pastor to inform the head of state that I was very busy. I didn’t want to explain that there is one excellency that is more excellent than the other. I’m sorry, but I can’t come.”

The Outcome of the Decision

According to Adeboye, the situation took a different turn after the head of state made his decision. “I think when the problem reached a certain stage, he changed his mind. And the very day he got on this campground, God solved the problem,” he added.

This story highlights the pastor’s belief in divine timing and his commitment to focusing on his responsibilities without being swayed by external pressures.
