In a significant economic boost for Nigeria’s oil sector, Moeve Global, the only refinery in Europe specifically designed to process Nigerian crude, has affirmed its long-term commitment to deepening investment and strengthening partnerships with the country.
Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), disclosed this after receiving a high-powered delegation from Moeve Global, formerly known as CEPSA, at his office in Abuja.
The meeting, described as strategic and forward-looking, underscored Nigeria’s importance as a reliable crude oil supplier on the global energy map.
Lokpobiri, on his official X handle, said: “Moeve Global has expressed strong interest in deepening their partnership with Nigeria. This not only validates the enduring value of Nigerian crude, but it also reflects the confidence in the direction of our energy reforms.”
The minister highlighted that Moeve Global’s continued interest comes at a time when the Nigerian government is aggressively pursuing upstream reforms, operational efficiency, and production ramp-up to meet growing international demand.
“Our efforts to ramp up crude production are firmly on track. We are aligning our operations to meet the expectations of trusted partners like Moeve Global, while safeguarding Nigeria’s role as a reliable and strategic supplier,” he said.
Moeve Global’s refinery, a unique facility in Europe tailored to handle Nigeria’s specific crude blend, represents a vital export link for the country’s oil economy. Their engagement is widely seen as a reaffirmation of the global relevance of Nigerian crude amid shifting energy dynamics.
Senator Lokpobiri reiterated that Nigeria remains open to partnerships that are transparent, investment-driven, and aligned with national development goals.
“This is a partnership we value. We are ready to match our words with action,” he said.
