NGO Gifts Water Bottles to Myra Development School: A Refreshing Impact

By Rihana Adam

On May 28, the Olivera Milijkovic Foundation, a nonprofit from Serbia, generously provided 45 packs of bottled water and sachet drinks to the Myra Immaculate Early Childhood Development School located in Korle-Gono, an outer area of Accra.

The “Water for All” initiative aims to enhance clean water accessibility at nursery and kindergarten schools throughout Ghana.

The contribution marked the inauguration of the Foundation in Ghana, aiming to foster reciprocal relations between the countries involved.

At the school for the donation presentation, Madam Jennifer Quaye, who serves as the Acting General Secretary of the Foundation, stated that the future of each country lies in the hands of its children.

She stated, “Water problems have consistently existed in certain areas of Accra, which led us to decide it was more prudent to supply the nurseries and kindergartens with water rather than the basic schools.”

We’re not confining our assistance to just Accra; we will be supporting all nursery and kindergarten schools throughout the nation.

Ms. Selasi Letsah, the owner of the school, accepted the donations on behalf of the institution and conveyed her appreciation to the Foundation for their kindness. She assured them that the contributions would be utilized effectively to enhance the welfare of the students.

She stated, “This water could help reduce expenses for the children’s parents, who have been buying water for their wards every day.”

Olivera Miljkovic was born on August 30, 1935, in Belgrade, Serbia. She married a renowned Serbian journalist named Blagoje Miljkovic and passed away on February 3, 2025.
