RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -As conflict continues to unfold in the Middle East, nearly 300 Nevada National Guard members remain deployed in the region, with the largest group expected to return home this summer.
The deployed personnel made up of both Army and Air National Guard units have been overseas since late fall. They are serving in fully integrated roles alongside active-duty troops, supporting logistics, sustainment, and other mission-critical operations throughout the region.

Nevada Army National Guard Commander Randy Lau said the recent conflict with Iran has not changed the deployment timeline for these soldiers.
“Our soldiers and our leadership that are down range are doing the right thing, ensuring our soldiers are protecting themselves,” Lau said. “We wish them a speedy recovery home.”

He added that the service members are on a timed deployment and are scheduled to return as designated by the U.S. Army.
“There are no projected deployments at this time,” Lau said. “But our goal remains the same to be ready, always ready, always there so that if the President or Governor calls, we are ready to go.”
Nevada families and Guard officials alike continue to support and monitor the progress of those serving overseas.
