A Summer Staple That’s Won Over My Mom and Me
I’ve always had a soft spot for espadrilles, and recently, I found myself spending a few weeks back home in Minnesota. It was the perfect opportunity to slow down, reconnect with my mom, and share some of my latest fashion finds. One of the most recent additions to my wardrobe that I’m especially proud of is Madewell’s Mary Jane espadrilles. Not only did I get to show them off to my mom, but she also fell in love with them almost instantly.

The moment she slipped them on, she claimed them as her own—but I’m more than happy to let her keep them. My mom is notoriously picky when it comes to shoes, so the fact that she loved these right out of the box says a lot about their quality and comfort.
She’s someone who appreciates the idea of heels but rarely wears them. As a result, she prefers flats, but at 5 feet 4 inches tall, she also likes a little extra height. Plus, they’re great for me too, as I’m about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
