Muthoni wa Kirumba and Betty Maina Clash on Social Media: “Stay Out of It!”

  • Muthoni wa Kiramba brought up previous commendations from Betty Maina to underscore what she perceived as betrayal, alleging that the MP had turned her back after receiving backing.

  • Betty Maina seemed to ridicule Muthoni’s cornmeal brand and launched personal attacks, even going so far as involving the radio host’s mother in their online disagreement.

  • The heated argument ignited online discussions, with supporters uncovering evidence and taking sides.

Veteran Kameme FM radio presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba and Murang’a women’s representative Betty Maina have found themselves engaged in a fierce public dispute.

Why is Muthoni upset with Maina?

The unforeseen backlash started after Maina posted an enigmatic message purportedly citing a fan who queried about the distinction between the maize flour brand endorsed by Muthoni and the one she uses herself.

Nevertheless, what drew significant notice was the subsequent remark where Maina appeared to subtly criticize the radio host’s motives and went as far as involving her mother in the dispute.

A bishop mentioned: ‘How’s everything going with you all? You should inquire from Wa**** about the distinction between the type of unleavened bread Kabagara provides versus what you’re offering to your community members.’ Some people believe hers is prepared differently. It seems others have noticed this too; they are aware she tends to be quite envious… someone who argues even with her own mother,’ as Betty commented.

Muthoni didn’t dismiss the remarks easily. Consistent with her spirited nature, the experienced media figure responded sharply, sternly cautioning the politician to leave her mother out of their dispute.

“Stay away from my mother. Focus on me instead,” Muthoni retorted, adding more candid remarks directed at the legislator.

To strengthen her argument, Muthoni shared again the message from Maina posted in 2020, wherein the politician openly expressed gratitude towards her for supporting her during a difficult time.

Today I wish to express my appreciation for this wonderful person, Muthoni Wa Kirumba known as Baby atop the Canjamuka show on Kameme FM.

“When I departed from a show she was hosting one day, she noticed that I wasn’t feeling joyful. She drove me back home where I ended up confiding in her about my issues; she assisted me in resolving them, offering stern guidance and warnings that brought me down a notch. Muthoni, you weren’t acting as a pastor or counselor, yet you surpassed expectations, sweetheart… A remarkable woman with a generous heart—even though your threats could be intimidating—you managed to instill some caution within me. Thank you, dear, for always standing by our side,” wrote Betty at the time.

Seemingly wounded by the sudden shift in stance, Muthoni proceeded to charge the MP with hypocrisy, citing previous events to strengthen her argument.

“All right then! While turning up for Mass and seeking forgiveness might be necessary, I’ll see you right here at 9:00. That red line won’t be crossed, not even by the parents of your worst foe… To those advising me about my brand, know this—I’ve got nothing when that red line is trespassed!” she penned down.

Was Muthoni in conflict with Karen Nyamu?

Earlier, Muthoni didn’t hold back when Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu seemed to provoke her by posting pictures with Waithaka wa Jane, who is rumored to be Muthoni’s companion and also a well-known Mugithi musician.

As a playful retort, Muthoni shared an image that included her ex-partner and baby daddy, Samidoh.

The pictures depicted her and Samidoh having fun playing a cops-and-robbers game.
