Morocco’s Travel Revenues Soar Past 34 Billion Dirhams in Early 2025


Morocco generated over 34.4 billion dirhams in travel revenues between January and April 2025, marking a 7.5% increase, or 2.4 billion dirhams more,  compared to the same period in 2024, according to the latest foreign exchange report from the exchange office.


Travel-related expenditures also rose, reaching 9.2 billion dirhams, up 3.5% year-on-year.


As a result, Morocco’s travel balance posted a surplus of 25.24 billion dirhams by the end of April, reflecting a 9% improvement over the previous year.


Meanwhile, remittances from Moroccans living abroad amounted to around 36 billion dirhams, slightly down from 37.27 billion dirhams recorded by the end of April 2024.
