More Troubles for Agradaa as High Court Rejects No Case Submission

Legal Proceedings Continue for Agradaa Amid Ongoing Case

Patricia Asiedua, known as Agradaa, a convicted individual currently serving a 15-year prison sentence, is set to face the Accra High Court on July 30. This upcoming court appearance comes as part of another legal matter she is involved in. Agradaa, who founded the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, is accused of sharing explicit images of a pastor based in Accra through her television channel, Thunder TV, in 2021.

The case has been overseen by Justice Mary Ekue Yanzuh, who recently rejected a submission from Agradaa’s legal team claiming there was no case to answer. The court has ordered Agradaa to present her defense during this hearing. Mr. Richard Baffour, one of Agradaa’s attorneys, had previously requested an adjournment due to her absence from the courtroom. However, the court denied this request and instead instructed the Ghana Prison Service to bring Agradaa before the court. Additionally, the court asked her to submit any witness statements if applicable, which will be necessary for a case management conference.

Agradaa faces charges related to possessing indecent material and sharing private, intimate images without consent. She has consistently denied these allegations. The incident involves Prophet Emmauel Appiah, also referred to as Osofo Biblical, who was accused of engaging in a sexual act with a woman. The pastor took legal action against Agradaa, arguing that the broadcast of the alleged video violated his rights to dignity and privacy.

Prior to this current case, Agradaa was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of conducting fraudulent advertising and two counts of defrauding through false pretenses. The Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs. Evelyn Asamoah, delivered this sentence on July 3, 2025.

Agradaa’s legal team has since filed an appeal at the Amasaman High Court, challenging the severity of the sentence. They argue that the punishment was excessive and that the entire trial process was flawed from a legal standpoint. The appeal highlights concerns about the fairness and legality of the previous proceedings.

This latest development underscores the ongoing legal challenges faced by Agradaa. Her case has drawn significant attention, not only due to the nature of the charges but also because of her public profile as a religious leader and media personality. The outcome of this new legal proceeding could have far-reaching implications, both for Agradaa and for the broader discussion around the legal and ethical responsibilities of public figures in the digital age.

As the court prepares for the next stage of the case, all eyes will be on how the legal system handles the complexities of this situation. The court’s decisions will play a crucial role in determining the trajectory of Agradaa’s legal journey and the potential consequences of her actions.
