Journalists Invite Sindh Minister to Celebrate PFUJ’s Platinum Jubilee

A high-level delegation from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ), and Sukkur Union of Journalists recently met with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The meeting was led by renowned journalist Mazhar Abbas, a member of the PFUJ Federal Executive Council, along with PFUJ Secretary Finance Lala Asad Pathan. Senior journalists such as KUJ President Tahir Hussain Khan, Sardar Liaquat, Saleem Sehto, and Javed Jatoi were also present during the discussion.

During the meeting, the journalists extended an invitation to Sharjeel Inam Memon to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the PFUJ. These three-day events will be held at the historic Khaliq Dina Hall in Karachi, a venue that holds significant importance for the union. The celebration marks 75 years since the formation of PFUJ.

The delegation also informed the minister about the upcoming three-day session of the PFUJ Federal Executive Council, which will take place in Karachi from August 1 to August 3. A special session is planned for August 2 at Khaliq Dina Hall, where the union was originally established.

In response, Sharjeel Inam Memon expressed his government’s full support and commitment to the journalists’ cause. He emphasized the deep connection between journalism and democracy, stating that the Sindh government has consistently worked to promote press freedom.
