Rue Mupedzi is positioning herself for a significant career in the cooking industry following her unexpected elimination from the “Back to Win” season on Tuesday.
Rather than retiring her apron permanently, this 29-year-old dental hygienist intends to train as a pastry chef instead.
Rue, affectionately referred to as the ‘queen of desserts’ by her admirers, declared her intention to travel to Europe swiftly in order to chase after her aspirations.

on Wednesday.
The kitchen celebrity from Western Australia mentioned that she intends to open her own pastry shop as part of her future goals.

In another interview, Rue spoke candidly about her comeback to MasterChef following her high-profile appearance on the program in 2023.
“I remained eager to put in a lot of effort and perform admirably, yet my top priority was enjoying myself,” she stated.
‘Returning was just like hopping back on a bicycle; it felt as though I had never stepped away! I seamlessly readapted to working in the kitchen once again.’
Rue achieved a significant victory on her initial attempt at the popular cooking contest when she emerged as the winner.

The Zimbabwe-born cook was
rendered speechless upon winning the immunity challenge as the judges were captivated by her delightful and zesty BarbeRue BBQ sauce recipe, Rue was left amazed.
She not only avoided being eliminated that week but also secured the life-altering prize of getting her sauce manufactured, packaged, and available for sale at all Coles locations throughout Australia for a restricted period.
Rue experienced the disappointment of being eliminated from MasterChef Australia for the second time this week when her challenging dessert did not meet the judges’ expectations.
Rue, Tim, Audra, and Sarah were assigned to recreate the sourdough variations along with the strawberry dish featuring elderflower and balsamic dressing.

The plate featured a strawberry sorbet positioned above a sourdough-flavored crème pâtissière, along with a strawberry gum emulsion, marinated strawberries, sourdough tuiles, and crispy fried elderflowers, concluding with a touch of balsamic gel.
Rue, Audra, and Tim faced difficulties as their emulsion separated and turned out too thin compared to Blayne’s. Meanwhile, the temperature inside the kitchen started rising rapidly.
Ultimately, it was the queen of desserts who was asked to leave due to her gritty crème pâtissière.
With tears in her eyes, Rue expressed to the judges that she felt honored to have cooked for them and to be participating in the show again.
“Just getting recalled among these incredible chefs made me realize I’m also one of the outstanding individuals,” she said.
Jean-Christophe Novelli highly commended the contestant and her impact on the show.
“You are one-of-a-kind, with an incredible spirit, and personally, I think you bring the warmth of sunlight into every kitchen,” he expressed to Rue in an emotional address.
Regarding her last cooking appearance on 10Play, Rue from Season 15 felt let down when she was eliminated during a challenge that she usually excelled at.
“I genuinely felt that this was an opportunity for me to excel, but I didn’t,” Rue stated.
‘I had done all these elements over a thousand times, and somehow that didn’t show. You couldn’t see that on the plate.’
