Martin Solveig Steps Down From DJing After Decade-Long Career

Martin Solveig, the renowned French producer, vocalist, and composer, has declared his official exit from the DJing scene.

Solveig informed fans about the news at France’s Les Vieilles Charrues music festival on Saturday (July 19) – his sole performance of 2025, and his first live show since November.

“It’s a unique occasion,” Solveig said to the audience of 70,000,France 24reported. “Throughout my entire life, every time I stepped onto the stage, I would remind myself: ‘Play as if it’s your final performance.’ Just until that moment comes.”

Solveig later verified the information in asocial postposted on Tuesday (July 23rd), stating that he does not intend to retire from creating music.

Per France 24, Les Vieilles Charrues Director Jerome Trehorel stated that the festival did not realize they would be hosting Solveig’s last live performance until just recently.

Solveig started DJing when she was 18 in the early ’90s and gained recognition during the early 2000s as a successful producer and songwriter. The 2011 song “Hello” (which included Canadian musician Martina Sorbara’s Dragonette project) turned into Solveig’s top-performing track, reaching number 5 in his home country of France and marking his only entry on the Hot 100 at position 46.

Solveig had a limited number of appearances on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart throughout his career, with the collaborative tracks “All Day and Night” and “Thing For You” peaking at No. 14 and No. 19, respectively, in 2019.
