Marshall County Fair: Fun for Every Age with Exciting Events and Attractions

The Marshall County Fair began this week, offering a week filled with food, entertainment, and animal attractions. The event, which continues until Saturday, includes a wide range of activities that appeal to everyone.

“We’re kicking off a hectic week; it’s full speed ahead,” said Lisa Ingram, WVU Marshall County Extension Agent. The fair features well-liked activities like the Market Lamb Show, for which 4-H members have been diligently preparing all year.

Jacquelyn Hart, the Pre-Teen Princess and Showman from Marshall County Fair shared her excitement, stating, “I really enjoy showing because I think it’s a lot of fun and I get to meet new friends while I’m showing.”

The event also features vintage tractor competitions, drag racing, and truck and tractor pulls during the week. The Gambles Carnival is located at the fairgrounds, with Wednesday being a free day for children. The celebrations will end with a performance by Bryce Leatherwood on Saturday evening.

There is definitely something happening, especially if you’re into track events, with something on the track every evening,” Ingram said. “We have a dinosaur show, and a magician performing multiple shows daily throughout the week. So, no matter what you like, even if it’s just coming to visit and hang out with friends. Even today I see fair time friends, people I see every year here.
