Marion Hensiak, 93, of Racine – Final Farewell

A Life of Faith, Family, and Giving

Marion Hensiak, who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 93, left behind a legacy defined by love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her journey began on October 29, 1931, in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, where she was born to George and Elizabeth Schilz. She was one of nine children, and her life was marked by the strong values instilled by her parents. Marion is survived by her sisters, Betty (Don) and Theresa (the late Bob), as well as three children: Thomas Hensiak, Christopher Hensiak, and Patricia Hensiak.

Marion’s marriage to Richard Hensiak in 1951 was a cornerstone of her life. The couple shared nearly 48 years together before Richard’s passing. Their union was built on love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to raising a family. Together, they welcomed three children—Thomas (Bonnie), Christopher (Jolene), and Patricia—and created a home filled with warmth, discipline, and deep-rooted values.

A Lifelong Commitment to Work and Service

Throughout her life, Marion was known for her remarkable work ethic. She remained active in the workforce well into her 80s, continuing to contribute to her community long after many would have retired. Her official retirement came at over 82 years old, a testament to her tireless spirit and determination to stay engaged.

Marion was also deeply involved in her local church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Racine. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her with strength and peace throughout the years. She found joy in reading and enjoyed playing dominoes, but her true passion lay in her hands—knitting and crocheting. She spent countless hours creating blankets and scarves, many of which she donated to those in need. Her generosity and compassion were evident in every stitch.

Cherished Memories and Lasting Impact

Beyond her work and faith, Marion cherished the simple pleasures of life. Time spent with family and friends, shared meals, laughter, and storytelling were all part of what made her life so meaningful. Her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around her, and her memory will be carried forward by those who knew her.

Marion is lovingly remembered by her three children, Thomas (Bonnie) Hensiak, Christopher (Jolene) Hensiak, and Patricia Hensiak. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty (Don) and Theresa (the late Bob), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hensiak; her parents, George and Elizabeth Schilz; and six of her siblings.

Celebrating a Life Well-Lived

A funeral service to honor Marion’s life and faith will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 728 Villa Street, Racine, WI. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.
