A Malaysian tourist sustained serious injuries after reportedly falling while trekking to Danau Segara Anak on Mount Rinjani, Indonesia’s second-highest volcano.

Yarman, head of the Mount Rinjani National Park Center, advised climbers to exercise caution and not underestimate the challenges posed by the volcano.

“Rinjani’s topography is very challenging. Climbers need to be careful, avoid pushing themselves when tired, and rest or seek help immediately if they face difficulties,” Yarman emphasized.

This is the second incident involving a foreigner in just a week on the renowned volcano.

On June 21, Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins, 26, fell while trekking on Mount Rinjani. Her body was discovered four days later at a depth of approximately 600 meters, but adverse weather conditions and difficult terrain delayed recovery efforts until June 25.
