On May 26, Mahira Khan broke her silence regarding her omission from the promotional poster of the Bollywood movie “Raees,” where she shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan.
In a recent promotional appearance during their US tour for the forthcoming film “Love Guru,” Mahira and co-star Humayun Saeed joined a talk show. Their discussion not only covered their highly anticipated partnership but also delved into personal matters when Mahira opened up about an earlier dispute linked to her entry into Bollywood.
When asked about removing her image from the movie’s promotional materials, Mahira commented, “It didn’t bother me at all, not even momentarily. It seemed like an absurd move. In fact, it made me laugh.”

Next to her sat Humayun Saeed, who agreed with her, describing the behavior as “small-minded.” Regardless of the political strains that frequently hinder international creative partnerships, Mahira stayed hopeful regarding the toughness and successes of Pakistan’s film industry.
She emphasized that local artists keep pushing boundaries and producing noteworthy creations. At present, Mahira and Humayun are gaining attention for “Love Guru,” a romantic comedy helmed by director Nadeem Baig and penned by screenwriter Vasay Chaudhry. The narrative revolves around a man who falls in love but then encounters an unexpected duty bestowed upon him by the father of his beloved, played by seasoned actor Javed Sheikh.
The movie has generated significant attention, as its trailer was displayed in New York’s famous Times Square — a landmark event for Pakistani filmmaking.
