Kathmandu, August 11 — The Genius IB World School, in partnership with Mahalaxmi Municipality, has offered scholarships to hardworking students from local community schools, aiming to promote equal educational opportunities for everyone.
As per Principal Kumar Joshi of the school, 40 dedicated students benefited from the program—30 from the elementary level (Grade 3) and 10 from Grade 11. The aid comprised supplies such as stationery, school bags, notebooks, and expenses for school uniforms.
At the scholarship distribution event organized at the school, Mayor Hari Govinda Shrestha of Mahalaxmi Municipality emphasized the municipality’s dedication to boosting the education sector. “We are committed to offering the required assistance to expand educational opportunities, and this scholarship program is a part of that initiative,” he stated, hoping that the effort would contribute to students’ academic success and position Mahalaxmi Municipality as a center for learning.

Genius IB World School Ambassador and Senior Captain Vijay Lama called his involvement in the program an honor, stating that he plans to keep supporting such educational projects in the coming years.
Municipal authorities revealed intentions to enhance the scholarship initiative by establishing collaborations with more educational institutions starting from next year through additional partnerships. School Principal Shirish Shrestha expressed gratitude to all involved parties, highlighting that the program’s achievements stemmed from a combined effort.
The gathering included Ward-8 Chairperson Bishwaraj Shrestha, local representatives, educators, parents, and students.
