Lawton Library Hosts Community Hiring Event

LAWTON, Oklahoma (KSWO) – The Lawton Public Library organized a unique job fair on July 25 for individuals seeking employment.

The gathering took place throughout the afternoon, linking job seekers with employers from the surrounding region.

Business representatives, such as those from City National Bank, Comanche County Memorial Hospital, and the City of Lawton, were present to connect with potential job candidates.

Organizers state that such events are beneficial not only for job seekers but also for companies in need of new employees.

Job applications are more effective when done in person, allowing both the applicant and employer to gain a better sense of each other,” said Thomas Moreland, a member of the Lawton Workforce Center. “Having all the opportunities in one central place is advantageous for the community as a whole.

Organizers have expressed satisfaction with the active involvement of attendees and applicants at every hiring event they’ve organized, along with the wide range of collaborating agencies.
