Lamar Jackson has claimed the MVP award on two occasions and unexpectedly placed second behind Josh Allen in the voting last year. The Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback is a three-time All-Pro selection and holds a 70-24 win-loss record during the regular season.
Jackson is entering his eighth season with a focus on enhancing “everything.”
“I’m only 28,” Jackson said on Wednesday, through Giana Han of theBaltimore BannerI’m truly just beginning for the first time.
The only thing missing from Jackson’s resume is a Super Bowl appearance. He has a 3-5 record in the postseason, including one trip to the AFC Championship Game, where he threw 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Honestly, I’m not trying to think that far ahead,” Jackson said. “Because every time we have those conversations, man, we make the playoffs, but we don’t follow through. We don’t finish. So I’m just focused on wrapping up camp the right way and preparing for the Bills. I’m not really thinking about the Super Bowl yet.
Since Jackson joined the league, Tom Brady secured a Super Bowl victory with two separate teams, while Patrick Mahomes claimed three championships. Matthew Stafford and Jalen Hurts each earned one title.
Is this the year for Jackson?
