Kenya’s Job Boom: Professional Opportunities Announced With June 10 Deadline

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has invited applications from Kenyans to fill several vacant positions.

What’s the application process for SRC jobs?

In an advert on its website, SRC asked interested and qualified candidates to submit their academic and professional certificates by Tuesday, June 10.

The public commission advised applicants to submit their CVs through its online recruitment portal, noting that hard copies will not be considered.

“Interested and qualified persons are requested to register and apply on the SRC Erecruitment Portal. All applications should be uploaded together with a detailed Curriculum Vitae, a copy of ID/Passport, copies of academic certificates, testimonials and any other relevant supporting documents. Hard copies and email applications shall not be considered,” it stated.

Which vacancies did SRC declare?

1. Principal officer, legal services

The jobholder is in charge of conducting and managing litigation, creating legal documents, and providing effective legal services and advice in order to protect the commission’s interests and mission.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • A Master’s degree in law is an added advantage.
  • A member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

2. Senior officer, job evaluation and salary structures

The jobholder will analyse remuneration for all state and public officers to ensure rationalisation and harmonisation of remuneration structures.

Requirements:

  • At least six years of working experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, human resources, statistics or public administration.

3. Senior officer, collective bargaining negotiation

The officer will analyse data regarding collective bargaining negotiations for public sector entities.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, human resources, statistics or public administration.
  • At least six years of working experience.
  • Good understanding of the Kenyan labour laws.

4. Senior officer, research, monitoring and evaluation

This officer is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of data on research, monitoring and evaluation to enable the commission to make informed decisions.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics or statistics.
  • At least six years of working experience.
  • Applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

5. Accountant

He/she will be tasked with the preparation and generation of monthly and annual cash plans in the IFMIS system in line with approved budgets.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics, or business administration.
  • At least three years of working experience.

6. Supply chain officer

The jobholder is responsible for the implementation of strategies, policies and manuals in the commission’s supply chain management function.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in purchasing and supplies management.
  • At least three years of working experience.

Which other organisations advertised jobs?

In other news, the Judiciary announced 45 jobs for judges in various courts countrywide.

Elsewhere, the Public Service Commission (PSC) invited applications for its internship programme under digital literacy.

KenGen also advertised vacant internship positions for graduates.
