Kanti Lokpath to Shut Down for Four Days as Bailey Bridge Installation Begins

Hetauda, June 3 — Vehicular movement along the Kanti Lokpath will be halted for four days to allow the installation of a bailey bridge over the Bagmati River on the Makawanpur-Lalitpur border.

The Makwanpur District Administration Office said the road will remain closed from Wednesday to Saturday. Authorities have issued a notice urging the public to use alternative routes.

The bridge at Bagmati River, located between ward 8 of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality in Makwanpur and ward 2 of Bagmati Rural Municipality in Lalitpur, was washed away by floods in September last year. The floods had damaged both ends of the bridge.

A temporary access route had been in use since then, but repeated washouts due to floods had been causing frequent disruptions to traffic along the Kanti Lokpath.
