At the Lavungtin SDA Church, Joyce shared her heartfelt testimony, expressing gratitude to those who stood by her during her darkest moments. While many people were there for her, she specifically thanked her nephew, Calvin, for his incredible support.
The Unbreakable Bond Between Mother and Nephew
Joyce spoke about how Calvin’s presence in her life was nothing short of miraculous. She described him as someone who never hesitated to help, even when it meant sacrificing his own comfort. “Imagine being out of your workstation for six months and he wasn’t bothered about whether he would lose his job,” she said. “He was a troop without a commander, but he stayed with me.”
She emphasized that Calvin’s support extended beyond just financial help. “He wiped me when I went on a long call at his age, and I am his mother.” Joyce’s words reflected the deep bond they shared, highlighting how Calvin had taken on the role of a son to her.

A Heroic Nephew
Joyce recounted how Calvin had always been there for her, even when she was at her lowest. “There is nothing that the boy has not done for me,” she said. “He did the same for my mother; my mother died when she got a fracture and could not walk again.”
At the tender age of a primary school child, Calvin cared for her, carrying her and tending to her needs. His dedication left a lasting impression on Joyce, who described him as “like a child from my womb.”
A Message of Gratitude and Strength
Joyce also expressed her deep appreciation for Calvin’s role in helping her through her recovery. “You are a man now,” she told him. “Without you, I wouldn’t know what to do. If there is anyone who has given me the strength to live, it is you.”
Her story resonated deeply with many people, especially after she shared it publicly. Kenyans from all walks of life responded with messages of encouragement and support.

Tragedy Strikes Again
Joyce’s journey has not been without further heartbreak. Another part of her story revealed how she lost her husband and two sons in a tragic incident. After a family gathering in the village, her husband and their two boys decided to return to the city while Joyce stayed behind with Georgina.
As they traveled through Narok, they encountered flash floods that swept their car away. When they were found, their bodies were severely damaged. The news devastated Joyce’s mother, who passed away just six months later. Her husband, Joyce’s father, also collapsed and died after learning of his wife’s death.
A Testament to Faith and Family
Despite these overwhelming losses, Joyce continues to find hope and strength in her faith and the love of her family. Her story is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of family support during times of crisis. Through her testimony, she inspires others to keep going, no matter how difficult the journey may be.
