In a Weibo update, Li posted pictures from his daughter Jada’s graduation ceremony, describing the graduations of each of his daughters as the most memorable moments in his life.

He similarly recognized Jada’s dedication, saying: “After over a decade of intense effort, she can now freely chase her aspirations.”

As reported by Chinese-language media sources, all four of Li’s daughters pursued their higher education in the United States. Jada earned her degree from Barnard College, and Li’s third daughter, Jane, is a Harvard alumna. Additionally, Li mentioned in an earlier posting that his second daughter, Taimi, has established herself as an ophthalmologist.

While in New York for Jada’s graduation ceremony, Li decided to take advantage of his trip to

with her.

He mentioned, ‘My daughter joined me for a subway trip, a walk through Central Park, and we stopped for a hotdog when our stomachs growled.’ He added, ‘I took a relaxing pause and genuinely enjoyed these simple times.’

Li, who is 62 years old, hails from Beijing, China, and experienced economic difficulties following the passing of his father when he was only two years old. At the age of eight, he gained recognition for his aptitude in Wushu. From 1975 to 1979, Li held the title of national all-around champion but had to retire at 18 because of a knee injury. Subsequently, he took up coaching as an assistant with the Beijing Wushu team.

Li’s achievements in athletics laid the groundwork for his subsequent work in martial arts movies. The 1982 release of “Shaolin Temple” shattered box office records in China, grossing an impressive 161 million yuan ($22.7 million). This was succeeded by the 1984 follow-up, “Kids From Shaolin,” which claimed the title as the top-grossing movie of that year.

Li debuted internationally with the 1998 movie “Lethal Weapon 4” and later appeared in major Hollywood productions such as “The Expendables” and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.”

In 2011, Li acknowledged obtaining Singaporean citizenship, as reported.
