Jayden Daniels’ 2025 Transformation: The Reason Behind His New Physique

Many things went well for Jayden Danielsand the Washington Commanders’ previous season when the team reached the NFC Championship game in Year 1 under Dan Quinn.

However, one aspect that was not favorable was the frequency with which Daniels was tackled, as he recorded 47 sacks, placing him sixth in the league for most times hit among quarterbacks. For a player like Jayden, who has a lean physique, this is not optimal and poses a risk of injury.

During this off-season, Daniels—who has previously played at 6-4 and around 2010—has gained some muscle, and as training camp started, he explained the reason behind his decision.

Clearly aim to absorb and ease the impact as much as possible,Daniels saidThat helps because, obviously, those guys could get a good shot on you and they weigh a lot more than I do. So, try to build more muscle to better absorb those hits.

In a perfect world, Daniels wouldn’t endure those impacts in the first place, but the reality is, he will be hit, he will be pushed, and having an additional layer of protection will assist in safeguarding him from harm.

Due to his playing style and the fact that Jayden enjoys breaking free from the pocket and moving downfield, he becomes a prominent target when he’s running. As a result, his larger physique will assist him in shaking off would-be defenders and make it simpler for him to endure the hits he’s bound to face.

In Year 2, Daniels and the Commanders are set for a significant season, with hopes reaching unprecedented levels, making it essential to complete a full season for any potential success the team aims to achieve.

And with Jayden’s more robust build, it could be somewhat easier to accomplish that.
