Iran Threatens U.S. President Donald Trump with Drone Strike
Iran has issued a stark warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that he could be targeted by a drone strike while relaxing at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago. This alarming statement was made by Javad Larijani, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The threat came weeks after a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, which the United States later joined on Israel’s side.
In a statement published by Iran International, Larijani said:
“Trump has done something that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago. As he lies there with his stomach to the sun, a small drone might hit him in the navel. It’s very simple.”
This provocative remark follows reports of American forces participating in attacks on military and nuclear targets deep within Iran. These actions have led to significant outrage in Tehran, further escalating tensions between the two nations.
Trump, who approved U.S. involvement in the strikes, has become a renewed target for Iran’s leadership. The rhetoric from Iranian officials has reached an all-time high, reflecting growing hostility towards the former U.S. president.
Earlier, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, a prominent Iranian cleric, issued a fatwa declaring Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “enemies of God.” He called on Muslims worldwide to unite against both leaders, stating that any support for them is haram (forbidden).
“It is necessary for all Muslims around the world to make these enemies regret their words and mistakes,” the cleric declared.
These statements have caused widespread concern among international observers, especially as Iran continues to recover from its recent aerial conflict with Israel and the United States.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu is currently in the U.S. for the third time since Trump’s return to office in January. During his visit, he met with Trump to discuss securing the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza and addressing the aftermath of what he described as “a great victory over Iran.”
On X (formerly Twitter), Netanyahu confirmed that he and Trump had also discussed ongoing ceasefire talks with Hamas. These discussions are nearing a breakthrough after 21 months of intense conflict in Gaza.
Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, stated that negotiators have reduced the main sticking points from four to one, fueling optimism that a temporary truce could be reached by the end of the week.
The situation remains tense as the region grapples with the implications of recent events and the potential for further escalation. The threats from Iran, combined with the ongoing diplomatic efforts, highlight the complex and volatile nature of the current geopolitical landscape.
