The puzzle pieces for the 2025-26 Iowa Women’s Basketball non-conference schedule are starting to come together. HawkeyeReport submitted a public records request to the University of Iowa and received the following information about the Hawkeyes upcoming schedule.
– Iowa will host Western Illinois on November 25th, marking the first meeting between the two programs since 2020. The Leathernecks finished last season with a 15-17 overall record, including an 8-12 mark in Ohio Valley play. WIU returns the tenth leading scorer in the country, Raegan McCowan, who averaged 22.3 points per game.
– A sneaky intriguing game, the Hawkeyes will host MAAC powerhouse Fairfield on November 30th. The Stags are 59-7 over the last two seasons, including a 27-5 season a year ago and a 19-1 mark in MAAC play. They lost in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to Kansas State, but took a ranked Oklahoma State team to the wire in Stillwater. This will be the first all-time meeting between the two programs.
– The final home game of the non-conference schedule, the Hawkeyes will host Lindenwood out of the Ohio Valley Conference on December 13th. A new program to the DI level in 2022, the Lions went 22-11 last season, including a 16-4 mark in OVC play. They earned a bid to the WNIT and advanced to the Round of 16. It will be the first ever meeting between Iowa and Lindenwood.
– A couple other of notes on the non-conference slate, the Hawkeyes will travel to Cedar Falls on November 16th for a matchup with Northern Iowa at the McLeod Center. The public records request also confirmed that Iowa will face Baylor and Miami FL at the WBCA Showcase in Orlando.
