Celebrating Inspirational Women from Cornwall
Cornwall is proud to honor a remarkable group of women who have made significant contributions to their communities and beyond. The list includes a wide range of accomplished women, from world para surfing champion Charlotte Banfield to Tamsin Wilton, the UK’s first professor of human sexuality. Another notable name is Annie Williams, a headmistress who became a suffragette, fighting for women’s rights during a pivotal time in history.
Dina Holder from The Women’s Centre Cornwall and Joyte Brown, co-founder of Black Voices Cornwall, were also included in the list. Their contributions to community empowerment and advocacy have been instrumental in shaping the cultural landscape of Cornwall.
An advisory panel composed of representatives from various charities played a crucial role in finalizing the list. Their input ensured that the selection process was inclusive and reflective of the region’s rich diversity.
The Ceramic Project
