Recruitment Drive for Apprentice Posts at Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory
Indian Railways, through its Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), has launched a recruitment drive for multiple apprentice positions. This initiative aims to fill 1010 apprentice posts across the factory. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online via the official website of ICF at pb.icf.gov.in. The registration process commenced on 12th July and will remain open until 11th August.
Eligibility Criteria for the Recruitment
To be eligible for these apprentice positions, candidates must have completed their 10th standard education along with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate. The age limit for ITI candidates is between 15 and 24 years, while non-ITI candidates must be under 22 years of age. However, government rules provide relaxation in the age limit for certain categories. SC/ST candidates are given a 5-year relaxation, and OBC candidates receive a 3-year relaxation.
Application Fee Details
Applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs 100. However, this fee is waived for SC/ST, PWD, and female candidates. The payment must be made through the online mode on the official website.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the 10th standard examination. In cases where candidates have passed the 10th grade during the pandemic, they may submit proof of their class 9th mark sheet or class 10th half-yearly mark sheet, which should be signed by the Principal of their respective institutes. If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference. In the event of a tie in both marks and date of birth, the candidate who passed the 10th grade examination first will be prioritized.
Stipend Structure for Apprentices
The stipend provided to apprentices varies based on their educational background:
- School pass out (Class 10th): Rs. 6000 per month
- School pass out (Class 12th): Rs. 7000 per month
- ITI pass (National and State Certificate Holder): Rs. 7000 per month
This structured stipend aims to support the apprentices financially during their training period.

It is also recommended to regularly check the official website for any updates or changes related to the recruitment process.
