A Chilling Encounter with Spiritual Manipulation
Actress Juliana Olayode, widely recognized as Toyo Baby in the Jenifa Diary movie series, has shared a harrowing experience that almost led her into the realm of witchcraft. Her story serves as a powerful warning about the dangers lurking behind seemingly innocent online content.
Olayode recounted the incident in a video posted on her Instagram page, where she described how she was watching a film on YouTube when an advertisement suddenly appeared. The ad invited her to click on a link, promising insights into past lives and other mysterious topics. Curiosity got the better of her, and she clicked the link, unaware of the spiritual consequences that would follow.
As soon as she accessed the link, she felt an overwhelming and unsettling presence. She described the experience as shocking and disturbing, realizing too late that the content was not what it seemed. “Out of curiosity, I clicked on the link and what I saw I was like, oh my God, what am I doing here?” she said. This moment of realization made her understand how easily one can be drawn into spiritual manipulation.
The actress, who is also a strong advocate for faith, emphasized that witchcraft often disguises itself as curiosity, entertainment, or enlightenment. “Witchcraft is everywhere,” she warned. “It often comes in the form of questions that provoke our minds, such as ‘Do you know who you were in your past life?’ These are traps that prey on our spiritual restlessness.”
She urged her followers to be cautious about the content they consume online. “There is this unrest in the minds of man. The devil is so strategic,” she said. According to Olayode, digital content can serve as subtle channels of spiritual influence, and people should be vigilant about what they expose themselves to.
Olayode also highlighted the importance of discernment in spiritual matters. “Don’t fall for the lie that you’ve been here before; nobody has,” she cautioned. She reminded her audience that just because some content resonates with their experiences doesn’t mean it is spiritually sound. “Remember Acts 16:16–18? Be careful what you expose yourself to, be careful who you expose yourself to, be careful of the ‘spiritual’ gathering you attend, be careful what church you go to, be very careful and very discerning.”
She added that initiation into witchcraft can occur unconsciously through media consumption. “You don’t have to click the link to be initiated,” she explained. “A lot of people are already initiated into witchcraft and they don’t even know. It could happen through the movie they watched, the music they listened to, a novel they read, or a witch store they followed their friends to in the name of ‘collecting arts or pieces from a witchcraft-themed movie they saw.’”
Olayode noted that some individuals may begin experiencing symptoms such as nightmares, strange presences, depression, anxiety, or fear without understanding the cause. “Some people will even be deceived into burning incense to remove dark energy, etc. It’s all a trap!!!” she warned.
In a digitally connected world, she stressed the need for spiritual awareness and protection. “Some of these things happen because you unconsciously gave these spirits access to your life,” she said. “You gotta guard your gates, the gates to your soul. You gotta be very careful, very prayerful and highly discerning.”
Olayode concluded by reaffirming her faith in Jesus Christ. “Lastly, the only way to God is through Jesus Christ, who is the son of God. If you want to experience God, if you want God, go through Jesus Christ,” she said. Her message serves as a reminder that spiritual vigilance is essential in today’s world.
