Honda CB125 Hornet Unveiled in India: A New Contender in the 125cc Segment
Honda has introduced the CB125 Hornet in the Indian market, positioning it as a strong competitor to the Hero Xtreme 125R. This new model comes with four eye-catching color options, including Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red. While the exact pricing details are yet to be announced, the bookings for the Honda CB125 Hornet will start from 1st August 2025.
Engine and Powertrain: Performance That Stands Out
At the heart of the Honda CB125 Hornet is a 123.94 cc, 4-stroke, SI engine paired with a 5-speed transmission. This combination delivers a peak power output of 11hp at 7500 rpm and a torque of 11.2 N-m at 6000 rpm. The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, making it one of the fastest in its class.
Design: Bold and Stylish
The Honda CB125 Hornet features a striking front fascia that gives it a commanding presence on the road. It is equipped with an all-LED lighting system, including a signature twin-LED headlamp with LED DRLs and high-mounted LED turn indicators. On the side profile, the bike boasts a muscular fuel tank with sharp tank shrouds and a stylish muffler, enhancing its overall appeal.

In terms of features, the Honda CB125 Hornet offers a 4.2-inch TFT display that supports Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with the Honda RoadSync app. This allows riders to access navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music playback through a headset. The screen can be controlled using switches on the left handlebar. Additionally, the bike includes a Universal USB Type-C charging port, enabling users to charge their devices while riding. For added safety, it features an engine stop switch, a side-stand indicator, and an engine inhibitor.
Underpinnings: Comfort and Safety Combined
The Honda CB125 Hornet is equipped with the first-in-segment golden USD front forks, along with a 5-step adjustable mono-shock absorber. The unique placement of the ignition key on the fuel tank adds both convenience and style. Braking is handled by a 240mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear. The petal disc improves heat dissipation and cooling, thereby enhancing braking efficiency. As a safety feature, the bike also includes a single-channel ABS. It rides on wide tubeless tyres—80/100-17 at the front and 110/80-17 at the rear—ensuring stability and grip on various road conditions.
