A New Chapter for Hogs & Heifers Saloon
Hogs & Heifers Saloon, a cherished landmark in Downtown Las Vegas, is preparing to embark on an exciting new journey. The establishment has recently secured a new location on Main Street, marking a significant milestone in its storied history.
Owner Michelle Dell revealed that the business is now in escrow for a property situated between the Bridger Hotel and Las Vegas City Hall at 307 and 319 Main Street. This move comes as the saloon wraps up operations at its long-time home on Downtown 3rd Street after two decades of service.
“This location couldn’t be more perfect for us,” said Dell, who has had her eye on the site for some time. “Since we announced our temporary closure back in May, our customers have asked us every day whether we’ve found a new home,” she added. “Keeping it under wraps hasn’t been easy, and as much as we had hoped to announce before our last day on July 5th, I’m thrilled to finally say: Yes—we have—and this is it.”
The new half-acre parcel offers several advantages over the previous location. It will provide an expanded bar footprint, on-site parking, and space for community events. Dell emphasized the importance of owning the property, stating, “We’ve built neighborhoods before—twice—and we’ve learned that the only way to fully shape our future is to own our place in it.”
Since its opening in 2005, Hogs & Heifers has become a cornerstone of Downtown Las Vegas, welcoming over 200,000 visitors annually. The final party at the Downtown 3rd Street location took place on July 5th, marking 20 years since its first soft opening. “It was fitting that our goodbye landed over Fourth of July weekend,” Dell said. “It was our own kind of Independence Day—a symbolic and literal move toward freedom, stability, and ownership.”
In May, the saloon launched Operation Saves Hogs, a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting non-management staff during the transition. The campaign includes online donations and merchandise sales, which have provided critical support. “Nearly every team member stayed with us after our May announcement. That kind of loyalty is rare, and any business would be lucky to have them,” Dell said.
The new location is expected to open in December 2025, with the team committed to preserving the spirit of Hogs & Heifers throughout the transition. The saloon’s loyal customer base and dedicated staff are excited about what the future holds.
As the saloon prepares for its next chapter, it remains a symbol of resilience and community in the heart of Las Vegas. The move not only represents a physical change but also a commitment to growth, stability, and the continued success of a beloved local institution.
