Harlandale ISD Votes for Across-the-Board Pay Raise for Employees

SAN ANTONIO – Harlandale ISD teachers and staff are getting a raise for the upcoming school year.

During a school board meeting on Monday, the Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees approved a new pay plan for the 2025–2026 school year. The plan includes pay increases for all employees in the district.

All staff members will receive a 2% raise. Teachers with one or two years of experience will receive an additional $1,500. Teachers with three or more years of experience could receive between $1,500 and $5,000 more, depending on how long they’ve been with the district and if they qualify for a special bonus program called the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA).

Starting teachers will now earn $60,000 a year. The most experienced teachers, those with over 30 years, could make up to $76,350. Teachers and librarians who have a master’s degree can also receive a $1,000 bonus.

“This compensation plan is a direct investment in the teachers and staff who support our students every single day,” said Harlandale ISD School Board President Norma Cavazos. “Whether they’re in the classroom, behind the scenes or out on our campuses, we want every employee to know they are valued, and that Harlandale ISD is a place where they can build a future.”

Employees will see their new salaries starting in their September paychecks.
