The Guardians host the St. Louis Cardinals
at Progressive Field on Sunday, June 29 for the final game of a three-game series.

After opening this six-game homestand by
losing two of three
to the
Toronto Blue Jays
, the Guardians
lost the series opener 5-0 to the Cardinals
on Friday, June 27 and then
lost 9-6 to the Cardinals
on Saturday, June 28.

The Guardians (40-41) scored six runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead
on June 28, but the Cardinals (46-38) rallied with the final eight runs of the game to get the win.

Pagés took second on a single by Scott and attempted to run to third, but was tagged out by José Ramírez after he recieved a solid throw from center fielder Lane Thomas. One pitch later, Scott tried to steal second base when catcher Austin Hedges threw behind him to first baseman Carlos Santana. Santana then fired the ball to shortstop Gabriel Arias, who applied the tag to end the inning.

Liberatore got Angel Martínez to ground into a fielder’s choice as third baseman Nolan Arenado scooped up a ground ball and ran to step on third ahead of a sliding Carlos Santana.

Steven Kwan grounded out and David Fry struck out to begin the first inning for the Guardians. José Ramírez walked, Santana lined a single to center field that advanced Ramírez to third and Lane Thomas walked to load the bases.

The walk was the 628th for Ramírez in his career, which put him 10th in Cleveland franchise history for bases on balls.
