Waco, Texas (KWTX) — Several distinguished graduates of Shoemaker High School imparted motivating messages drawn from prominent philosophers of the past century at their Class of 2025 commencement event, as stated in a Killeen ISD press statement.
The salutatorian, Winona Ochoa, drew inspiration from Winnie the Pooh’s words to deliver an optimistic message to her fellow graduates, as stated in the press release.

“We might each go our separate ways after tonight, but the recollections and the individuals involved are what make these moments worth cherishing,” Ochoa stated.
As Winnie the Pooh famously stated, “A great adventure is just around the corner.”
According to the press release, valedictorian Angela Nguyen offered a farewell message to inspire her fellow graduates.
If I could impart one idea, it would be that life doesn’t always adhere to our expected schedule… Yet here we are, having managed to get through these challenges, emerging as individuals who possess unexpected strength, adaptability, and capability.
As Dr. Seuss once stated, “You possess intelligence in your mind. You have mobility with your footwear. You are capable of directing your path in whatever way you prefer.”
