Current County Administrator Bill Emlen informed the supervisors and community of his intention to retire in Febuary of this year, but signed a contract extension to help see the county through the search process and transition to his replacement. In his previous role as Assistant County Administrator, Goldberg served under previous Emlen, guiding all departments in Solano County.
“His work has encompassed strategic planning, budget management, staff development, capital project oversight, emergency operations, and the implementation of policies set by the Board of Supervisors,” the release reads. “Prior to this role, he held several leadership positions within the County, including Budget Officer, Principal Management Analyst, and Deputy Auditor-Controller.”
Goldberg holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of San Francisco and a Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University. He is active in several professional organizations for county executives.
“In addition to guiding the County’s strategic direction, Mr. Goldberg will continue fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with elected officials, department heads, city and regional leaders, and community stakeholders,” the release reads.
