A 25-year-old rapper, known in real life as Gloria Hallelujah Woods, surrendered herself to the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday, July 22, following an alleged discovery of marijuana and a restricted drug by police when they responded to a burglary attempt on July 20, which she was not present for, as stated by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
“CRAZY [!!] My House was broken into Saturday while I was in Indianapolis performing at the WNBA All-Star game, and instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focused on some cannabis,” the “Wanna Be” artist tweeted on Thursday, July 24.
Then, she provided a three-part analysis of the events from her point of view.
“1. No, I wasn’t caught 2. My home was stolen from 3. I wasn’t there,” GloRilla wrote.
She added, “To make a long story short, my house was broken into and I’m the one who ends up getting arrested.”
The “All Dere” rapper ended with, “So that’s tea,” including a shrug emoji.
A representative for GloRilla did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
A report of “a burglary in progress” was received at 1:30 a.m. local time, according to a statement from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
A report stated that three individuals entered the house and were in the act of stealing belongings when an armed resident shot at the intruders,” the police statement said. “The suspects ran away from the location, and it seems none of them were hit. No injuries were mentioned among those living in the home.
No individuals were identified after “a comprehensive investigation,” police stated, “During their visit, officers noticed a powerful smell that matched the characteristics of illegal drugs. Consequently, the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force was notified and arrived at the location.”
Police secured a search warrant and stated they discovered “a substantial quantity of marijuana” in GloRilla’s main bedroom closet.
Consequently, the Memphis resident faced charges of Felony Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. Following her decision to surrender herself, GloRilla was released with a $22,260 bond.
