“We want to provide every student in America with free tutoring that is tailored to their needs, in whatever subject they need support in,” Anand said.

She added that the free assistance alleviates the guilt students might face in asking their parents for additional support.

“I was that kid. I needed tutoring. And, I felt so bad about it. It was like $50 or some insane number. So this gives a way for them to support their student and support their educational journey without being a financial burden on them,” she said.

The organization matches students with trained high school and college volunteer tutors through a secure, user-friendly online platform.

To date,

Connect Me has supported more than 3,000 students

, offering individualized tutoring across subjects ranging from math and science to reading and writing, at no cost to families.

Anand said all tutors are approved by the organization’s board and must meet rigorous academic requirements.
