A New Initiative for Social Impact
The Future (FTF), a youth-led non-profit organization, has introduced a groundbreaking social enterprise initiative called the FTF Impact Store. This new venture aims to support underprivileged children by selling everyday essentials, with all proceeds directly funding life-changing programs for children in need.
Kezia Asiedua Sanie, the Founder and President of The Future, shared her vision during the launch of the FTF Book Fair and Impact Store. She explained that the core idea behind the Impact Store is simple: when customers shop there, 100 percent of the proceeds go towards supporting initiatives that help underprivileged children. “It’s not just shopping; it’s making an impact,” she said. “Your purchase helps put children in school, provides them with books, uniforms, and other essentials they need to thrive.”
Expanding Reach and Collaboration
Although the Impact Store was officially launched, The Future plans to organize more fairs regularly—potentially every quarter. Ms. Sanie expressed hopes of collaborating with major supermarkets in the future. “We want to have FTF shelves in stores, so anyone can walk in, pick up an item, and know they’re supporting a good cause,” she added.
This initiative reflects a broader strategy to make social impact accessible to everyone. By integrating the Impact Store into everyday shopping experiences, The Future aims to create a sustainable model where consumers can contribute to meaningful change without significant effort or cost.
The Power of Literacy
Ms. Sanie also emphasized the importance of reading in children’s development. “Reading is key. It fuels curiosity and opens up a world of knowledge,” she stated. “If we want children to have a bright future, we must first empower them through books.” This belief underpins many of The Future’s programs, which focus on providing access to educational resources and fostering a love for learning among underprivileged children.
