Tragic House Fire in Peshawar Claims Four Lives

A devastating house fire occurred in the Koochi Bazar area of Peshawar on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including two women. Two others were seriously injured and are currently receiving medical treatment. The fire, which is believed to have originated from an electrical short circuit, spread quickly and consumed the entire house within a matter of minutes.

Rescue teams from Rescue 1122 confirmed that six people were rescued from the burning building and immediately taken to the hospital for urgent care. Unfortunately, four of them—Rafiq, Shehnaz, Riaz, and Riaz’s wife—succumbed to their injuries due to the intense heat and smoke from the blaze.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with fire engines and ambulances arriving at the scene shortly after the incident was reported. In addition to the victims inside the house, three more individuals were evacuated from a nearby residence and transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The firefighting operation involved 40 personnel and six fire tenders. However, the dense urban environment posed significant challenges, as the house was located in an area with narrow streets and closely packed buildings. Despite these difficulties, firefighters managed to bring the flames under control after persistent efforts.

During the rescue mission, two firefighters collapsed due to extreme heat and exposure to smoke. They were promptly taken to Lady Reading Hospital, where medical staff confirmed that their conditions were stable. Their actions during the crisis were commended by both officials and onlookers.

The cooling process is still ongoing as authorities conduct a thorough assessment of the damage caused by the fire. Local officials have urged residents to regularly check their electrical wiring and report any potential hazards to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
