In a world that has gone absolutely nuts for jacked-up, off-road-ready pickups, the once thriving street truck scene has lost almost all of its factory support.
Ford attempted to revive the scene with the Maverick Lobo last year
, but now the automaker is ready to expand the nameplate’s reach. The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo has arrived, with some seriously sinister looks and a proper V8 engine under the hood. Here’s everything we know so far.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is based on the STX trim, and comes exclusively in the SuperCrew / 5.5-foot bed configuration. Every Lobo will come equipped with the F-150’s 5.0-liter V-8 engine, which provides 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Ford has swapped the standard 4WD setup for the upgraded two-speed transfer case, which works alongside a locking rear axle with 3.73 gears out back. The automaker hasn’t shared any performance estimates, but we expect the truck’s acceleration to remain largely in line with the standard STX.
In order to give the Lobo some legit street truck credentials, Ford has dropped the truck’s rear suspension by two inches. The truck also comes equipped with a 10-piece ground effects package, which reshapes the truck’s fascias and gives it a lower visual profile. Dual exhaust tips point to the V8 under the hood, while bespoke badging denotes the Lobo heritage. The trucks will also feature a unique set of 22-inch wheels, as well as bespoke front and rear lighting. While the truck looks best in black, Ford will also offer the truck in Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Rapid Red Metallic.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo package carries a $4695 price tag, which brings the total cost of the truck up to $59,995. That isn’t all that much in the world of potent F-150s …
but it sure would buy you a lot of first- or second-gen SVT Lightning.
You know, the last time Ford made a properly kitted street truck.
