Flying Biscuit Cafe in Macon Reveals Opening Date

Excitement Builds for Flying Biscuit Cafe’s Macon Opening

Macon residents and locals have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new dining destination, and now the wait is almost over. The Flying Biscuit Cafe, an Atlanta-based all-day breakfast and brunch spot, has officially announced its opening day. On Sunday, the restaurant shared the news that it will open its doors on Monday, July 28. This marks a significant milestone for the community, as the new location is set to take over the space previously occupied by Michael’s on Mulberry at 588 Mulberry Street.

The announcement of the Macon location came back in October 2024, when the company first revealed plans to expand into the city. Since then, the timeline for the opening has seen several adjustments. Initially, the restaurant had set its sights on a winter 2025 opening, but that date was later moved to May. Further delays pushed the opening to June or July, creating some uncertainty among local residents. However, with the final date now confirmed, excitement is building across the city.

Heather Stennis, the Marketing Director for Flying Biscuit, expressed her enthusiasm for the new location during a previous statement. “Macon is a great market,” she said. “There’s a lot of opportunity here…. We’re very excited when we open to the public, it will be a week-dollar special.” This promise of a unique experience has already generated interest from both locals and visitors.

The Macon location will be owned and managed by Jason Esteves, a Georgia State Senator and candidate for governor. Esteves is also responsible for running a successful Flying Biscuit location in Columbus. His track record in managing other locations led to the decision to bring another branch to Macon. He will oversee this new addition as part of the company’s 30 locations spread throughout the southern and southeastern United States.

Jessica Walden, President and CEO of the Macon Chamber, shared her excitement about the new venture. “We are thrilled the owners chose Macon and can’t wait to see the Flying Biscuit’s contribution to Downtown Macon’s continued vibrancy,” she said.

A Diverse Menu for Every Palate

The menu at the new Flying Biscuit Cafe offers something for everyone. From classic breakfast and brunch items like chicken and waffles, eggs benedict, and steak and eggs to more indulgent options like French toast and omelets, there’s a wide variety of choices. The menu also includes a “local classics” section featuring grits-based dishes, reflecting the Southern influence of the area.

For those looking for creative twists, the cafe offers a range of combinations. One standout is the Piedmont Omelet, which includes three eggs, chicken sage sausage, all-natural nitrate-free applewood bacon, onions, and white cheddar cheese. The menu also caters to dietary preferences with a dedicated vegan and vegetarian section.

If guests are in the mood for a lunch-style meal, the “Mr. Big” burger and three different wraps—firecracker shrimp, Nashville hot chicken, and chicken Caesar—are available. These options provide a satisfying alternative to traditional breakfast fare.

In addition to its diverse food offerings, the cafe serves a wide array of drinks. Patrons can enjoy coffee, espresso, chai, and even cocktails, making it a perfect spot for any time of day.

With its exciting menu, convenient location, and commitment to serving the community, the Flying Biscuit Cafe is poised to become a beloved addition to Macon’s dining scene. Residents and visitors alike are eager to experience what this new location has to offer.
