CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Motorists experienced delays on I-664 in Chesapeake near Joliff Road due to a vehicle fire.
Firefighters temporarily shut the interstate for safety precautions while they put out the fire, according to Lt. Shaun Williams with the Chesapeake Fire Department.
The occupants safely evacuated the vehicle before firefighters arrived.
All south lanes were closed but have since reopened.
