New Superintendent Named for Fayette County Public Schools
Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) has announced the appointment of a new superintendent, marking a significant step in the district’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational outcomes for students. In addition to his work in the education field, Dr. McPherson has also gained valuable experience in the corporate world. He spent 11 years working with two Fortune 500 companies, where he received top honors for excellence in sales and marketing. This unique blend of experiences has provided him with a broader perspective on leadership, communication, and performance-driven results—skills that he continues to apply in his current role.
Before joining Fayette County, Dr. McPherson served as a middle school math teacher in Franklin County, Tennessee. This recent experience allows him to connect more closely with the day-to-day challenges and opportunities faced by educators and students.

Notably, he maintained a graduation rate in the mid-90s, a testament to his ability to manage complex systems while prioritizing student success.
