I’m about to attend a huge university and work incredibly hard just to try and scratch a spot on a sports team—just so I can have access to these squad-exclusive kicks. The university PEs are some of the best Air Jordan designs I’ve ever seen. But of course, unless you’re an All-American talent at a prestigious school, you probably won’t be seeing these in your collection anytime soon.
Nike did not hold back with the University of North Carolina’s AJ4. It’s nothing short of beautiful. That signature Tar Heels blue looks as elegant as ever on this silhouette.
The Air Jordan 4 “UNC” PE is a player exclusive crafted only for UNC’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, part of the long-standing partnership between Jordan Brand and MJ’s alma mater. This pair might be the cleanest Tar Heels PE in recent memory. It follows in the footsteps of the Jordan 4 “First Class” WNBA PE—same premium vibe, but this one’s all about UNC’s legacy.
The entire sneaker is wrapped in tonal University Blue, blending buttery suede with textured leather on the tongue, toe, and heel. The wings and eyestay get a thin suede treatment over TPU, adding depth and structure.
Luxury details take this pair over the top: metallic gold Jumpman logos on the tongue and heel, each topped with a mini crystal basketball. Gold lace dubraes engraved with “UNC” and a custom hangtag lock in the exclusive feel.
Looking at a university-exclusive PE is like window shopping with no chance to buy. It’s rough, but hey—at least we’re all in the same boat drooling over them. Check out the articles below and stay locked in for everything sneakers.
