Europe Scorches in Brutal Heatwave as Mercury Hits 47°C

Pakistan, June 30 — Europe is suffering under a severe heatwave, with temperatures hitting 40degC and even higher in several regions. Countries like Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, and the UK are experiencing record-breaking heat. Authorities in many areas have issued health and wildlife warnings due to the rising temperatures.

In Spain, the capital city Barcelona reported the death of a woman due to the extreme heat. In Portugal’s Mura region, the temperature reached a scorching 47degC. As a result, officials advised people to stay indoors during the hottest hours. Italy placed 21 cities, including Rome, Milan, and Naples, on high heat alert. Hospitals are treating many cases of heatstroke.

France also recorded unusually high temperatures. In Paris, today was the hottest day of the year, with the temperature hitting 35degC. It may rise to 49degC later this week. The country has issued an orange alert and shut down several schools to protect children from the heat.

In the United Kingdom, this June marked the hottest day in British history. Manchester recorded temperatures of up to 35degC. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and may issue further warnings if conditions worsen.

Meanwhile, many parts of Europe also face wildfire threats. Authorities have warned people to avoid outdoor activities during the day. As temperatures continue to rise, many residents and tourists are heading to beaches to cool off.
