Epstein survivor condemns MAGA over Ghislaine Maxwell’s crimes: ‘She’s a convicted pedophile!’

Maria Farmer, one of numerous women who were abused by the late financier Jeffrey Epstein during her youth as part of his trafficking network, shared in an interview with MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Thursday how the recent surge in attention surrounding the case is causing her to relive the trauma. She also criticized those attempting to defend Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted associate, for political reasons.

In recent times, as Trump’s Department of Justiceinterviews Maxwell in prisonto attempt to shift focus from the frustration within their own supporters due to insufficient openness, some conservative commentators have started promoting a story that Maxwell may have been rushed through the legal process, with Newsmax’s Greg Kelly proposing shecould possibly be a victim too.

Let me begin by asking you, I mean, this — this nightmare has been with you for an extremely long time, I mean, decades. And I’m certain that Jeffrey Epstein’s return to the news, I mean, everywhere, has been very distressing,” said Psaki. “How are you? How are you coping? How are you, how are you dealing with all of this?

Thank you for raising that,” said Farmer. “That’s very considerate, as many people don’t realise how often his image appears on their podcasts or, well, and I’ve spoken to several individuals, asking them not to just display this picture everywhere or associate it with Maxwell’s without proper context? But thank you for bringing it up, as many aren’t aware that this can retraumatise survivors.

Every time we have to look at his face, and it’s a situation that has never disappeared,” Farmer added. “It just — it just refuses to go away. And I need your audience to grasp that, you know, I brought this up almost three decades ago. So many people will ask, ‘Why is she speaking out now?’ And they assume it’s political, but it isn’t. It’s something I’ve been focused on for the most part of my life — I devoted my entire youth to this. And so I’m doing this not only for myself, but for the victims who have passed away and those who are still living. I want justice for all of them.

I believe that for my younger sister to have experienced what she did and then had to give testimony against Maxwell, only to continue suffering,” she said. “There are also others I care about deeply who are going through the same thing with Maxwell right now. It’s entirely unacceptable. Why is Maxwell allowed to speak when she’s a convicted child molester? I just — it’s been really tough, and I thank you for the question. I appreciate you asking.
