Engineer Cyrus Kibet Ngeno, an esteemed civil engineer, has sadly been laid to rest days after he died after a short illness.
Where did Koech go to school?
On June 4, Cyrus’s family and friends were thrown into mourning after learning of his death.
According to Koech Manasseh, Cyrus was a hardworking man whose life was just beginning to take shape but the devil was not happy.
“Cyrus had just secured a job after attaining 1st class in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi and scoring A plain in the Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from Alliance Boys High School,” said Koech.
“After completing his house, he was taken from us after a short illness. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” he said.
How did the Engineers of Kenya mourn Cyrus?
Cyrus’s family was not the only that is mourning him as the Institution of Engineers of Kenya also publicly mourned one of their own.
“IEK regrets to announce the passing on of our esteemed member, Eng. Cyrus. He was a valued member of the institution, and he will be remembered for his contribution to engineering,” said the engineers’ body.
Until his demise, he was working as an Assistant Resident Engineer for Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) road projects in the West Pokot and Trans Nzoia regions. He was a seasoned Highway Engineer and Project Manager.
“During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. May they find comfort in the cherished memories and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him. See less,” said the engineers.
