Elon Musk‘s AI startup xAI’“Companions” were recently disclosed, and now the billionaire has acknowledged the origin of inspiration for one of the characters – and everyone is unable to stop cringing.
The latest AI anime chatbots featureA sexually suggestive blonde anime botnamed “Ani” and a crude red panda named Bad Rudi.
Since the launch, there has already beenbacklash as these Grok companions are available in the Grok app– an application that is categorized on the App Store for users aged 12 and above.
A different character that has been added is a male with a somber, sharp facial structure and loose black hair.
After inquiring with his 222 million followers about the name for the companion, Musk proceeded to explain the origin of inspiration behind developing this AI companion.
His character is influenced byEdward Cullen from Twilight and Christian Grey“From 50 Shades,” he wrote, referencing the central character from the widely known book-to-film series and the main figure fromFifty Shades of Grey, which is also a literary adaptation series.
Musk did not address the link between the character Christian Grey being clearly influenced by Edward Cullen, withFifty Shades of Grey starting out as Twilight fan fiction.
Certainly, this new information caused a significant response as people found it hard to believe what they were reading.

A different person commented, “I’m crying this is so bad and yet somehow this isn’t even his most embarrassing tweet.”
