Ed Sheeran’s ‘Cosmic Carpark Paintings’ Exhibit in London

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has unveiled a new series of original paintings and prints titled ‘Cosmic Carpark Paintings’. The artwork will be on display at the HENI Gallery in London, starting from Thursday, 10 July, with all proceeds going to support the Ed Sheeran Foundation. This initiative is dedicated to providing inclusive, high-quality music education for every child.

The foundation has already made a significant impact by supporting 18 grassroots music education organisations and state school music departments, benefiting over 12,000 children and young people. Sheeran’s passion for painting began in 2019 after his record-breaking Divide Tour concluded. His early works even served as the official artwork for his single ‘Afterglow’.

Inspired by celestial patterns, Sheeran’s paintings adopt a style reminiscent of Jackson Pollock, featuring vibrant splashes of colour. These creations were previously showcased in a collection held in a disused car park in London last year. Notably, renowned artist Damien Hirst encouraged Sheeran to host his own exhibition, believing it would be an interesting way to demonstrate how art can give back to the arts.

On Instagram, Sheeran shared his thoughts on the project: “Last year, between shows, I was doing these paintings. I love painting, more for fun and to give to friends, but this time I was encouraged to do a show of them by @damienhirst and @heni. I paint when I’m not working on a record, just to do something creative with my brain. And it’s mostly just splashing colours on canvases, think Jackson Pollock but with colourful house paint.”

He added, “I am by no means ‘an artist’, but I do love making art; it makes me feel great, and I love the end result. The show is going to run from 10th July to 1st August at the HENI Gallery in Soho. The paintings are for sale if anyone fancies it, and my proceeds from them will all go into the @edsheeranfnd so art will fund art. I like the idea of that. There’s also prints and other merch available, all quite fun. If you happen to be in Soho over the next month, pop in. The opening preview of Cosmic Carpark Paintings is this Thursday, 10th July, from 2pm-8pm. Enjoy!”

The paintings will be exhibited at the HENI Gallery in London between 10 July and 1 August 2025. Admission to the ‘Cosmic Carpark Paintings’ exhibition is free.

Ed Sheeran’s Impact on Music Streaming

In other news, Ed Sheeran’s 2017 hit ‘Shape of You’ has been announced by Apple Music as the most-streamed song on the platform of the past decade. Apple shared an interview with the singer discussing the creation and impact of ‘Shape of You’.

Sheeran reflected on the song’s enduring popularity: “No one can take away the song. I’ll be able to play it forever… I’m just grateful that I have songs like that, that you could be anywhere in the world and someone gives you a guitar and you can make someone happy with it.”

This recognition highlights the lasting influence of Sheeran’s work, both in the music industry and beyond. As he continues to explore his creative passions through art, his contributions to both music and visual arts remain significant.
